A few individuals of the species was noted in upper Karkur Talh and lower Wadi Handal following the rains of 2005. In October 2006 the species was observed to have become very abundant and thriving in the upper section of Karkur Talh, where it became one of the dominant species together with Cleome crysantha. The species was also noted in abundance as remnant rain vegetation in Wadi Handal. Some individuals survived in Karkur Talh in green and flowering state up to March 2007. A few live examples were noted in Wadi Handal in October 2007.
