Crotalaria thebaica
The species is one of the few perennial shrubs at Jebel Uweinat that manages to remain green even in periods of drought. The species was noted in lower Karkur Talh and lower Wadi Wahesh, in both instances heavily grazed by gazelle. Fresh growth of the species was also noted in both lower and upper Wadi Handal following the rains of 2005, and in upper north western Karkur Talh in the area affected by the local rainfall in 2006. In october 2006 the lower Karkur Talh individuals were clearly invigorated despite their location well below the end of the 2005 runoff, and lower Wadi Handal was filled with large bright green individuals of the species. A single heavily grazed individual was noted in middle Karkur Talh in March 2007, probably a remnant growth of the 2005 rains. In October 2007, the dense population observed in the lower Wadi Handal a year earlier was still thriving, more than two years after the original rainfall.
