Tribulus pentandrus
The species is dominant in the lower sandy watercourses of Jebel Uweinat following rains. It was noted in all of the wadis affected by the rains. It forms a continuous green carpet over the areas covered by running water, however becomes scarcer in the upper, rocky areas of the wadis. Both times it was approximately six to eight weeks following the rain event, and the plant was in full bloom. Sporadically the species can survive for up to a year following rain in favorable spots, some individuals in Karkur Talh survived in a green state up to March 2007. The species was not noted anywhere outside the watercourses, or at times unaffected by rains.
