Air Algerie flies to most major cities in Europe. As it is the only airline operating domestic flights in Algeria, the most economical way of reaching Djanet is typically buying a combined ticket from Europe to Djanet via a connection in Algiers. Air Algerie now has online schedule and fare information.
Agence Essendilene Voyages
Agence Essendilene is one of the larger and more reliable tour operators in Djanet, offering treks to the Plateau as well as camel and 4WD trips to the surroundings, and other areas of the Sahara.
NOTE: I'm in no way affiliated with them ! The reason they are listed here is that we've had very good experience with them on two trips, but take care, that was 10 years ago.
Amis de l'Art Rupestre Saharien
International association of professional and amateur Saharan rock art researchers.
Sahara Journal
Scientific journal dealing with Saharan rock art, archaeology and pre-islamic history.
FJ Expeditions
My other website dealing with the prehistoric rock art sites of the Gilf Kebir and Jebel Uweinat region (Lybian Desert, or Eastern Sahara). Site covers history & geography of the region as well as the rock art sites, plus lists planned expeditions and accounts of previous trips.
