Yolande Tschudi
Les Peintures Rupestres du Tassili-N-Ajjer

La Baconniere, Neuchatel, 1956

It is little known, but a Swiss expedition covered much of the Tassili sites from 1946 to 1949, doing a much more thorough work than the more publicised Lhote missions. Originally published in German, this book is quite hard to come by, but worth the effort.

Alfred Muzzolini
Les Images Rupestres du Sahara

Published by the author, Toulouse, 1995

For serious readers only ! A massive monograph on saharan rock art, heavily drawing on material from the Tassili. Detailed chapters on interpretation and chronology. Some of the conclusions are rather controversial, especially a radical rethinking of Saharan rock art chronology that is heatedly debated by most other researchers.

Available through the author (7, rue J. de Resseguier, 31000 - Toulouse, France).
