(The Prehistoric Animals and Natives of Eastern Siberia)

First Edition 1930
Second Edition 193?

The account of the author's expeditions in the years 1901-1908 to the Eastern regions of Siberia, recovering the first complete frozen mammoth carcasses, reworked and expanded by Dr. Cholnoky Béla (the son of the series editor). The first edition, bearing the Lampel publisher mark complete with 83 photos and a map, was released in 1930 by Lampel with both Classic III. and Oval logo bindings. The Classic III. binding exists in two variants, with matching interior but differing thickness of the impressed gilt decoration, possibly reflecting a different production batch. A second Lampel edition, only known in Classic III. thin gilt binding, only differs from the first one in having one less illustration (82 photos). All versions are believed to have been issued with a dust jacket. According to some sources there was a third Franklin edition a year later (like #23 Bergman), however this is subject to verification, no such copies were ever seen.
