Termites were seen emerging from rotten acacia wood used for campfire in a small wadi on the southern side of Jebel Uweinat. They were not noted elsewhere, though in upper Karkur Talh a dry shrub was found covered with a termite nest, however in this location no live termites were seen. The species remains unidentified, however most likely belongs to the Rhinotermitidae (subterranean termites) family.
