Swallows were seen on two occasions in the spring both at Uweinat and the Gilf Kebir. The observed individuals were undoubtedly migrants, however a swallow nest was seen at one location in southern Uweinat (given the hyperarid conditions, it may well date to the mid-holocene, rather than recent times).
