BÁNHIDI, Antal
A Gerle 13. útja
(The Journey of "Dove 13.")
First Edition 1936
Second Edition 1943?
The account of an aerial circumnavigation of the Mediterranean by Bánhidi, pilot and aircraft designer at the Budapest Technical University. The aircraft name "Gerle 13." (Dove 13.) signifies the 13th rebuild of the same basic airframe design. Like all other titles in the seven volume 1936 series, it appeared only Classic IV. full cloth bindings. A Classic IV. half cloth version is also known, probably dating a few years after the original first printing (it has not been verified if the interiors are identical). The title is also known in the very rare white half board binding, one of only four such titles, with an interior matching that of the Classic IV full cloth version. It is thought to be a 1943 second edition, however this awaits confirmation. The dust jacket of the Classic IV. version is known, on the rear it lists 8 titles as a "New Series". However one listed title (Bergman) is in fact part of the 10 title 1934 series, so there are altogether seven new 1936 titles (as evidenced by this single known dust jacket).
