The translation of Ossendowski's controversial but highly successful and influential book describing his flight from Krasnoyarsk in Siberia folowing the Bolshevik revolution, by way of Mongolia and Tibet, originally published by Dutton in the United States in August 1922 (and reached 24 editions by May 1924!), translated from the english by Sajó Aladár. All title pages in the series binding versions explicitely say third edition. Apperently there was a previous Franklin edition of 1923 (in half cloth covers, with a picture of a seated Buddha on the cover), however "Third Edition" more likely refers to the third english language edition of October 1922 from which the translation was made. It is known in three binding versions with no difference in the interiors, the Classic II. with MUFK series title, the plain crimson version, and the MFTK Oval logo version (which though lacks MFTK series half title). The dust jacket is known, however it is uncertain if all versions had the same.
