The species is common in Siwa oasis and the northern fringes of the Libyan Desert, however it was noted only in a single locality in the central part, in the westernmost wadi of the low plateau to the north of Wadi Gubba (northern extremity of the Gilf Kebir). A cluster of several flowering individuals were noted in the upper reaches of the wadi that was othervise void of any green vegetation.
