A handful of examples of the species is known from Jebel Uweinat, one from the middle section of Wadi Wahesh, where it was seen flowering in an area otherwise completely absent from any green vegetation, except for a small Aerva persica. On the Hassanein Plateau, two individuals were noted in 2006.
