A single adult male individual of a sand (or desert) cockroach was observed in southern Karkur Talh in the evening, first flying then alighting on the sand. Very soon after landing it was attacked by one of the large black deert ants (Cataglyphis fortis). The species identification is based on Heterogamodes ursina being the only one reported from the desert regions of Chad & Sudan.
