The sixth and last title of Hedin to appear in the series, being the third of a three book series describing his travels and experiences to North-western China in 1933-34. This book describes a series of voyages taken in the Tarim Basin and around Lop Nor. Apparently like #52 and #58, it appeared near-simultaneously in both single and two volume versions. The single volume edition is known in the the Classic IV. full cloth binding, while the two volume set exists in a Classic IV. half cloth version. Both versions appear to have the same pagination and table of contents, the second of the two-volume version starting at page 145. The dust jacket is known, however at present it is impossible to ascertain the version it belonged to.
