ETHERTON, P.T.
A Mount Everest átrepülése

(Flying over Mount Everest)

First Edition 1934

The translation from the English original (First over Everest, London, 1933) by Dr. Cholnoky Béla (the son of the series editor). The account of the 1932 Houston Everest expedition that succeeded in overflying the summit of the mountain. Like all other titles in the 10 volume 1934 series, it exists in both Classic III. and Classic IV. full cloth bindings. An 1934 owner's inscription in a Classic IV. version confirms the two were simultaneously available. It is also known in a rare hybrid Classic III/IV binding, with only the globe having a blue infill. It also appeared in the very rare White half-cloth binding (one of only four known titles), with an interior exactly matching the others, probably an early forties reprint judging from the other titles available in this version. The dust jacket is known, it lists the ten new 1934 titles of the series on the rear.
