Rock Art of Zimbabwe
30th June - 28th July, 2026

Following up on our initial July 2025 expedition, we returned to Zimbabwe for almost a month, doing two back to back tours along roughly the same itinerary in opposite directions. We have managed to relocate Dandabari (Impey's Cave) for which we searched in vain last year, and managed to visit a number of other sites which we could not squeeze in to our first visit.

Day 0. – Bulawayo

Arrival logistics was a bit complicated, as Fenny crossed overland from Botswana, I took an early morning Airlink flight from Namibia getting in to Bulawayo at midday, Willard and Rodrig (our diver, also from last year) made the long drive from Harare with the minibus arriving at the airport about an hour after me, with the rest of our party getting in on Ethiopian Airlines another hour later.

Despite all the complexity, everyone made it on schedule, and by mid-afternoon we were all in the Cresta Churchill hotel to rest after the (for some) long travels.

Day 1. – Matopo Hills

To be contined...

We plan to return to Zimbabwe again in July 2028, broadly along the same itinerary but also planning to visit some more remote sites, and search for the ones missed on this trip. The exact itinerary will be decided as departure time draws closer. Please check the News page periodically or "like" the FJ Expeditions FaceBook page to receive notices of news and updates.
