Heliotropium bacciferum
The species was first noted on the Hassanein Plateau, where it is one of the commonest plants. It was observed in varying stages of growth on all visits to the plateau (except February 2003). The species was also seen in a ravine at the foot of the cliffs of the Hassanein Plateau, and in the upper reaches of the south west branch of Karkur Talh. A single fresh cluster was noted in the main (north western) branch of Karkur Talh in March 2007.
By chance in October 2005 a few very small shoots were observed in the bed of Wadi Hamra, in the Gilf Kebir.
