A dried cluster of the species was noted in a shallow watercourse on the top of the Gilf Kebir plateau, to the south of Wadi Hamra. There was no other vegetation in the vicinity. A couple of specimens were also noted in the upper section of the eastern branch of Wadi Abd el Melik.
